Information Background
Carole Ann Boone, the wife of a notorious criminal, was reportedly born in Olympia, Washington, USA in 1947. Although her exact date of birth remains unknown, she passed away in January 2018 at the age of 70.
Biography
Carol Ann Boone, an American woman, was previously married to Ted Bundy, a kidnapper, rapist, serial killer, and necrophile. They tied the knot in 1980, a day before Bundy was sentenced to death for the third time. Their marriage lasted until 1986.
Information about Boone’s life before her relationship with Bundy is scarce. She had been previously married and had a teenage son when she first met Bundy while working together at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services.
Boone was drawn to Bundy’s youthful charisma and restrained personality. Bundy was initially arrested in Utah and faced multiple homicide charges in several states. He orchestrated two escapes from prison and purportedly received assistance from Boone. He went on to murder three more people before being recaptured in Florida in 1978. Boone moved to Florida to be closer to Bundy during his trial and served as a character witness for him.
In 1982, she gave birth to a daughter who was allegedly fathered by Bundy. Boone ceased visiting Bundy in 1986, about three years before his execution, as the prison environment reportedly distressed her daughter. Since then, they both presumably assumed new identities and have been living discreetly.
How did Ted Bundy meet Carole?
Theodore Robert Bundy, originally named Theodore Robert Cowell, was born in Burlington, Vermont, USA, in November 1946. While the exact timeline of his crimes is unclear, it is known that he was already an experienced killer and criminal when he arrived in Olympia and took up a summer job at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services.
It was there that he caught the eye of Carole Ann Boone, who was immediately intrigued by his introverted nature and graceful demeanor.
Despite Bundy’s initial desire to date Boone, their relationship started off as a platonic friendship while he continued to date other women, including his girlfriend at the time, Elizabeth Kloepfer. Over time, investigators in several states began to suspect Bundy of multiple unsolved murders, leading to his eventual capture and imprisonment.
During his trial in Florida in 1979, Boone and Bundy grew closer and exchanged letters regularly. Many people believe that Boone even aided Bundy in his second prison escape. She eventually moved to Florida with her son to be closer to Bundy.

Marriage to Ted Bundy
During his trial, Bundy was supported by Boone who acted as his character witness. Despite being part of his own defense team due to his previous legal studies, Bundy was denied permission to marry Boone after she expressed her desire to do so in 1980.
However, Bundy was undeterred and discovered an obscure law in Florida that allowed him to propose to Boone during his trial for murdering Kimberly Leach. Boone accepted his proposal, and as the judge presiding over the trial was present, they were legally married. The very next day, Bundy received his third death sentence for electrocution.
In October 1982, Boone gave birth to a daughter named Rose or Rosa Bundy. There have been speculations about the paternity of the child, as conjugal visits were prohibited at Raiford Prison where Bundy was held. However, it was known that inmates would bribe guards for private time with their female visitors.
Despite the prohibition on conjugal visits, Boone continued to visit Bundy, often bringing Rose with her. In 1986, Bundy was placed on death watch, which prevented any physical contact between him and his family. This upset Rose, who was no longer able to hug her father and would often throw tantrums. Eventually, Boone decided to stop visiting her husband altogether.
Bundy was executed in the Raiford electric chair on January 24, 1989. By then, Boone had disappeared completely. It is speculated that she changed her and Rose’s names and relocated elsewhere.
Is She Still Alive
Reportedly, Carole Ann Boone passed away in January 2018 at the age of 70. After divorcing Bundy, she became depressed and relocated with her children to Washington.
For three years, she did not visit her ex-husband and refused to answer his calls on the day of his execution. It is widely believed that she changed her identity and remarried. Similarly, her daughter changed her name to Abigail Griffin and relocated to Oklahoma City.
However, despite the efforts to conceal her identity, Carole Ann Boone’s passing was reported to have occurred due to septic shock in a retirement home in Washington.
